Street and Sanitation Department 600 Bessemer Super Highway, Midfield, Alabama 35228, (205)923-2071 The Public Works Department employs 20 full-time employees and 10 seasonal personnel. This building houses the city vehicle service facility and is the center for street and right-of-way maintenance as well as for solid waste collection.  Curbside pick-up for the red section is on Mondays and Thursdays. Curbside pick-up for the blue section is on Tuesdays and Fridays. During 2002, garbage will not be picked up on the following days: January 1, January 21, March 29, May 27, July 4, September 2, November 12, November 22, December 24, and December 25 |
