Park and Recreation Department
The City of Midfield Park and Recreation Department is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Municipal Park, Brookwood Park, and the Highlands Senior Center.
The Highlands Senior Center, on the corner of Ninth Avenue and Ninth Street in Fairfield Highlands, is designated for use by the Senior Citizens of Midfield. The Highlands Seniors meet there three times a week. Adjacent to the facility is a parking lot with an asphalt walk/jog track around it.
Brookwood Park is located between East Brookwood and West Brookwood next to Wendy’s. It stretches from Woodward Road to the Bessemer Super Highway and has a stream running through it. This park has a few swings and picnic tables, but it is largely left undeveloped in order to maintain the serenity of the natural setting.
The Midfield Municipal Park is the hub of recreational activity in Midfield. This park, located off Breland Drive and behind Midfield Kia on the Bessemer Super Highway, is the site of a playground and picnic area, four tennis courts, a football/soccer field, three baseball fields, a softball field, a duck pond stocked with fish, a picnic pavilion, and the Midfield Community Center.
